Comparison of PaCO2 in the two patient groups previously described (sepsis-induced ARDS and oncohematologic children). Improvement of PaCO2 elimination was noted only in sepsis-induced ARDS starting from 12 hours confirming the improvement in lung pathology. No PaCO2 improvement was noted in oncohematologic children in the first 12 hours. In fact, PaCO2 deteriorated during the second 12 hours, following the evolution of the original pathology.
