Note:
Surfactant instilled in trachea migrates towards the bronchi and bronchioles, depositing preferentially in dependent areas and those in which alveolar patency is better. The most uniform distribution of surfactant after instillation is obtained expanding gently the lung manually and applying respiratory physiotherapy. Personal observation and unpublished data.
